An intensive seven-day training module with theory, practice and hands-on experience that prepares engineering and other technical professionals/practitioners on maintaining and improving water supply, environmental sanitation, hygiene promotion and providing shelter in humanitarian situations.
This practical and hands-on training course is targeted towards individuals who are interested in applying their engineering, particularly civil, structural and water, geology, hydrology and other related subject specialism and skills to humanitarian situations. Those with an interest to explore and understand the humanitarian field are also encouraged to participate. Engineers working in the private sector, with the government and, graduate students in engineering subjects would find the course particularly useful. Agencies looking to building internal engineering in emergencies capacity will also benefit from nominating for this course. Additionally, those working on WASH issues in development will benefit from learning about applying technical WASH skills in emergency and DRR activities.
